Summer 3 From 6 to 16 knots on Sunday, the 28th of June, five IRC and eight PHS boats had their sailing skills well and truly tested in Race 3 of the Summer Series 2026. The action – or rather ‘inaction’ – began south of Lamma at 1030. An hour later, the leaders had barely reached the southwestern corner of the island. |

| Next slips through the gap | ||
With a thunderstorm approaching from the west, the race officer wisely decided to shorten course. Just in time as a dramatic change in conditions saw crews furling headsails and reefing mains as they charged towards the finish between P1 buoy and the committee boat. Gusts in the mid-20s made for an exhilarating end to the day’s racing. |

First home was Wicked which also scored a 1st on handicap in IRC 2. Winner of IRC 1, with Kalina King calling the shots, was Aberdeen Boat Club stalwart, Redeye. The big Beneteau First 50, Tipsy Easy, stormed over the line at 12:13:29 to take PHS A while another club regular, Five O One, emerged victorious in PHS B. |
